MISSISSAUGA - A brand new highway route is coming to Sauga Transit. Route 116 Erindale-Applewood Express brings fast, nonstop service between Erindale & Applewood Stations in the map, using Highway 403.

“This is our first new route in over 2 years, and the first to go on a highway!” says theawesomeSC4sim, or “Mike”. “Our Highway 403 has been in development for many years, and it is finally time to open it up for Transit Operators to use!”

Transit Operators who’ve accumulated 45 Drives on their profile are eligible to receive Highway Certification, enabling them to be dispatched on this route.

The route will start from Erindale Station in the west, entering Creditview Road. Then, it will turn left on Burnhamthorpe Road West, which then it turns left on Mavis Road to access the highway. From there, it merges on Highway 403 towards Toronto, reaching speeds of 100 kilometres per hour. After about a 5-minute run on the highway, the route exits on Cawthra Road, which there it turns right on it. After a brief run on Cawthra, the route turns left, onto Rathburn Road East. Passing John Cabot Secondary School & crossing the Sambilay Expressway bridge, the street becomes Cervantes Drive. The route then turns left on Dixie Road, then another left on Badilla Drive, where it completes its run at Applewood Station.

Heading Westbound, it repeats the same routing!

Route 116 Erindale-Applewood Express will serve Platform A at Erindale Station & Platform D at Applewood.

Route training for the 116 begins for Transit Operators begins on Monday, July 11, with revenue service beginning on Friday, July 15!
